ASLB supports utility scale solar, wind and battery projects by coordinating principal equipment, energy storage, substations, transformers, switchgear and grid connection packages.

Mine electrification

From individual machines to an electrified mine system.

Mine electrification demands far more than replacing a diesel truck with an electric one. It requires a coordinated system spanning haulage, excavation, loading, charging, battery storage, renewable generation, substations and site power.

Working with major equipment and battery technology partners, ASLB is developing long term equipment and infrastructure solutions suited to the operating life of large Australian mines.

Gemini brings together two connected opportunities in the Upper Spencer Gulf. Megalink is being assessed as a renewable powered advanced data and industrial precinct. Opal is its complementary grid scale battery energy storage and network support asset.

Together they create a platform for reliable clean power, advanced manufacturing, digital infrastructure and regional development. The combination reflects ASLB’s wider model: energy infrastructure is conceived alongside the industrial assets that will use it, rather than added as an afterthought.

Gemini is intended to form the first stage of a broader South Australian platform, using the region’s energy resources, transmission position, industrial capability and strategic location to support investment over time.

Equipment and infrastructure for a life of mine model

A proposed package of mining, processing and essential electrical infrastructure that could be owned by an investment vehicle and provided to the mine operator through a long term lease or rental structure.

The opportunity brings major mobile equipment, processing systems and the electrical network into a single coordinated asset platform. This allows the mine operator to access modern infrastructure while aligning the equipment term with the operating life of the mine.

The electrical scope includes the external power network, main substation and a 220kV transmission connection. Future stages may also incorporate electric and autonomous fleets, charging systems, battery storage and renewable power as the site moves toward deeper electrification.

ASPC

ASPC Battery Technology is ASLB’s global battery technology partner. Its large format cylindrical lithium iron phosphate systems are designed for utility storage, heavy transport and demanding industrial applications.

With more than 400 patents and proprietary rapid charging capability, ASPC provides the technology foundation for ASLB’s storage and mine electrification platform.

XCMG

XCMG provides large scale mining and construction equipment for electrified and increasingly autonomous industrial operations.

The equipment scope extends across haulage, excavation, loading, drilling and site support, allowing ASLB to address the mine as an integrated operating system.

BESIX Watpac

BESIX Watpac has been identified as a proposed EPC and delivery partner across the ASLB platform.

Its Australian construction capability, infrastructure experience and project management discipline can provide the bridge between global technology supply and accountable delivery on the ground.

Andrew Brown is an Australian businessman with more than fifteen years’ experience conducting business at senior levels throughout China and more than three decades of engagement with government, industry and public institutions across Australia.

His career has spanned infrastructure, international trade, strategic investment and complex cross border transactions, with a particular focus on building long term partnerships between Australian industry and Chinese manufacturing, technology and capital markets.

Andrew previously served as Deputy Mayor of Mosman, one of Australia’s leading municipal councils, and has spent more than thirty years working across all levels of government in Australia. His experience in public policy, stakeholder engagement and regulatory frameworks has been instrumental in the development of major commercial and infrastructure initiatives.

As Chairman of ASLB Pty Ltd, Andrew leads the company’s Australian strategy, government relations and institutional partnerships, overseeing the development of an integrated infrastructure platform spanning renewable energy, battery storage, mine electrification and next generation AI infrastructure.

His focus is on creating enduring partnerships between Australian project developers, institutional investors, governments and global technology providers to accelerate the electrification of Australia’s industrial economy.
